This beautiful Victorian biscuit barrel dates to approximately the 1880s and is a wonderful example of elegant late-19th-century tableware.
Standing approximately 8 inches tall without counting the handle, it features richly colored purple-edged glass adorned with a lovely floral design, complemented by its original silver-toned lid and mounting.
The combination of vibrant color, delicate decoration, and decorative silverwork gives this piece the refined appearance Victorian households were known for.
Whether displayed in a china cabinet, on a sideboard, or incorporated into a period décor collection, it brings warmth, character, and timeless elegance to any setting.
While no maker's marks were found on either the silver mounting or the glass body, the quality, styling, and craftsmanship are consistent with biscuit barrels produced during the Victorian era. The jar remains in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, making it an increasingly difficult example to find today.
Perfect for collectors of Victorian glass, biscuit barrels, antique tableware, and elegant period décor, this piece is equally beautiful as a display item or functional serving piece.
A stunning addition to any antique collection.
